Chocolate Mint Liqueur

This is one of the easiest liqueurs that it is possible to make.

Ingredients:

  • 700ml Rum
  • Box of After Eight Mints (or similar)

Slow Method:

  1. Add the chocolates into a 1l Kilner Jar.
  2. Add in the Rum.
  3. Put the jar into your dishwasher for one cycle.
  4. You may need to shake the jar once the cycle has finished just to dissolve the last bits.
  5. Pour into a clean bottle and test for taste. Add extra sugar if needed.

Mark’s Top Tip: Rum or Vodka are commonly used to make chocolate liqueur but there is no reason not to try any other alcohol. You don’t have to stick with After Eights, any type of chocolate will work but the dark chocolates do tend to be rather bitter.
