There are dozens of summer cocktails needing Peach Liqueur and it is so easy to make at home. The peaches will need slicing and the stones need to be removed before use.
Ingredients:
- 700ml Vodka
- 500g Peaches
- 250g Granulated sugar
- 1tsp lemon zest (optional)
- 1tsp orange zest (optional)
Slow Method:
- Add the sliced peaches and zest into a 1l Kilner Jar.
- Add the sugar and Vodka.
- Put into a cool dark place and leave for 3 weeks.
- Shake the jar every day until the sugar has dissolved
- Strain into a clean bottle and test for taste. Add extra sugar if needed.
- Enjoy your Peach Liqueur,
Fast Method:
- Add the sliced peaches and zest into a 1l Kilner Jar.
- Add the sugar and Vodka.
- Put into a water bath at 65°C for 3 hours.
- Strain into a clean bottle and test for taste. Add extra sugar if needed.
- Enjoy your Peach Liqueur.
Mark’s Top Tip: Vodka is commonly used to make peach liqueur but there is no reason not to try gin or white rum. You can also add complementary herbs and spices such as star anise, thyme, or mint.
