Sweets Liqueurs

sweets

Sweets are a useful way of adding flavour and sweetness in one go. Look in your local shop for a bag of sweets such as Rhubarb & custard, strawberries & cream, pear drops, Werthers Old Original, Fox’s glacier mints, Fox’s liquorice and aniseed (tastes like sambuca), sherbert lemons, etc. We found that pear drops dissolved overnight (with some very vigorous shaking).

We’ve heard that Skittles are a very good ingredient but we’ve been warned to take out the green ones, they make the liqueur turn brown but there is no reason why you can’t have a green liqueur. With Skittles you can sort out all the colours and have a multicoloured display of homemade liqueurs.

  3. Shake the jar every day until the sweets have dissolved.

Mark’s Top Tip: Try substituting the Vodka for Gin, Rum, or Brandy. Go into any large supermarket and browse the alcohol shelves. Toffee vodka, strawberry gin, honey whisky, cherry brandy, cinnamon whisky, the list goes on and you can make all of it at home with the added bonus that someone, somewhere thinks they’ve produced a taste mix sensation. They’ve done all the hard work of testing different taste combinations so you don’t have to (although there is nothing to stop you. Wink, wink.)

Drink responsibly and enjoy
