Everybody likes vanilla ice cream but when the weather gets colder this way of getting your vanilla fix seems much more comforting!
Ingredients:
- 700ml Dark Rum
- 4 Vanilla Pods
- 200g Granulated sugar
Slow Method:
- Slice the Vanilla pods in half lengthways and add to a 1l Kilner Jar.
- Add the sugar and Rum.
- Put into a cool dark place and leave for 3 weeks.
- Shake the jar every day until the sugar has dissolved
- Strain into a clean bottle and test for taste. Add extra sugar if needed.
- Enjoy your Vanilla Liqueur
Fast Method:
- Slice the Vanilla pods in half lengthways and add to a 1l Kilner Jar.
- Add the sugar and Rum.
- Put into a water bath at 65°C for 3 hours.
- Strain into a clean bottle and test for taste. Add extra sugar if needed.
- Enjoy your Vanilla Liqueur
