Watermelons are delicious and refreshing, especially on a really hot day, but they are often just too large to eat before they start to turn. Here we have the ideal solution to use up the leftovers.
Ingredients:
- 700ml Vodka
- 500g Watermeon, seeds removed
- 200g Granulated sugar
Slow Method:
- Peel the Watermelon, remove the seeds, cut into chunks and add to a 1l Kilner Jar.
- Add the sugar and Vodka.
- Put into a cool dark place and leave for 3 weeks.
- Shake the jar every day until the sugar has dissolved
- Strain into a clean bottle and test for taste. Add extra sugar if needed.
- Enjoy your Watermelon Liqueur
Fast Method:
- Peel the Watermelon, remove the seeds, cut into chunks and add to a 1l Kilner Jar.
- Add the sugar and Vodka.
- Put into a water bath at 65°C for 3 hours.
- Strain into a clean bottle and test for taste. Add extra sugar if needed.
- Enjoy your Watermelon Liqueur
